Location: UK – access to the South East of England 2-3 times per month

Salary: Up to £130k DOE, plus bonus + additional benefits

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Backup Lead to join our leading banking client. This is a pivotal role in the prevention of cyber attacks and leading the effort in avoiding ransomware. The Backup Lead will provide technical and managerial development and oversight for all Backup Services, inclusive of contract and relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Storage, utilities and hardware associated with the enterprise backup and recovery environment.
• Manage a team of technical experts, assigning work and managing performance to achieve outcomes, focusing on strengths and areas of development for colleagues and supporting them with their career progression.
• Provide innovative ideas and approaches to explore new service opportunities that exceed those currently provided, gather feedback to drive improvements.
• Support infrastructure and operations teams in preparing remediation plans for audit recommendations.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on technical experience with Netbackup TSM, Avamar and other backup technologies.
• Experience in either Oracle / SQL Databases.
• Experience managing & driving a team through technology delivery.
• Working knowledge of at least one scripting language and a procedural language for at least one database is desirable.
• Experience in structuring the Backup requirements and testing plans (both Technical and non-technical aspects) for large databases (Oracle, SQL etc.,) and critical applications is desirable.
• Knowledge of various types of data stores is desirable.
• Understanding AWS/Azure backups products and integration with on-premise backup systems is desirable.
