Distinguished Engineer – High Street Bank – £150K+ package

I’m working closely with a well known bank who are going through some amazing growth plans in 2023 due to hundreds of well funded projects seeing them compete against other high street banks as well as modern FinTechs.

Due to this growth they are building out a cohort of “distinguished engineers” or what some might call “developer advocates”.

This is a team of people who have the ability to lead from the front, are capable of leading complex technical transformations, speaking at meetups and generally being thought leaders in their field.

The Director of this business unit is open to speaking to expert engineers who want to stay hands on focused, or engineering leaders who can add value in the fields mentioned.

Ideally, your time in this Distinguished Engineer role will be evenly split between creating a positive culture internally, solving the toughest technical problems in the organization and representing the bank at major tech events.

Technology wise they are using the latest versions of Java, Springboot, AWS and GCP, Kafka and are looking to implement MongoDB in the future. They also use a range of other web/mobile technologies like React, Angular, iOS and Android etc.

They are offering anywhere from £120,000 to £150,000+, as well as amazing benefits like 10% guaranteed cash allowance, 10% pension (non contributory), bonuses that pay upto 25% and 38 days holiday (including bank holidays.

Their Head Offices are based in Central London, and are very flexible when it comes to remote working from anywhere in the UK.
