Java Software Engineer

We are working closely with one of the world’s leading brands in high-service electronics components and technology products distribution, who are looking for a Senior Java Developer.

They are currently going through an Agile digital transformation, standing up multiple cross-functional scrum teams. They are also moving to modern cloud based architecture and a true DevOps mindset.

They have offices in Leeds but are happy for someone to work predominantly remote, as long as you have access to the Leeds offices.

The role:

• As a Back End Developer, you will integrate the application with all required systems and services and provide clean and easy to use APIs for the frontend part of the system.
• You will build and coach high performing teams and ensure Scrum practices are used and improved
• You will always look for ways to strengthen teams understanding of Agile / Scrum concepts and principles
• You will foster a continuous learning environment helping teams to inspect, adapt, and improve

Required skills/experience:

• You know how to write clean modern APIs, integrate with legacy systems and work with databases.
• You have proven of hands-on experience in developing in the Java/J2EE ecosystem and solid experience writing and maintaining service-oriented RESTful APIs and performance tuning of large-scale apps
• You have a strong ability to write effective unit, integration, and API tests
• You have experience with WebSphere Commerce (WCS) and knowledge of DevOps, infrastructure as a code and provisioning tools (preferred)

Package:

• Offering up to £78,000 base salary + benefits
