Java Software Engineer

£40,000-£55,000 per annum

This is a great opportunity to join a hugely successful global Financial Data Management company. They aggregate and normalise index & ETF data and sell the data to large financial institutions. They are funded by a large private equity fund and have recently won a large new contract and are now going through a stage of growth. It is a great time to join and be part of their increasingly diverse team that focuses on finding creative solutions.

Key Accountabilities and Scope

  • Develop and implement new software programs
  • Maintain and improve the performance of existing software
  • Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues
  • Design and update software database
  • Test and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimization
  • Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary

Skills and Qualifications Required

  • Minimum of 2-years’ experience with Java
  • Design Patterns, OO Principles
  • Unit Testing / TDD
  • Source code repositories, ideally Git
  • Database either relational or NoSQL. DynamoDB would be advantageous

Nice to Have

  • UI Development using modern JavaScript libraries/frameworks such as React/Redux
  • Cloud computing ideally with AWS in a serverless environment
  • Integration testing using JBehave or any other framework
  • Continuous integration using Jenkins or other platforms
  • Restful API development
  • Python
