Lead PHP/WordPress Developer

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join my clients Development team, as a hands-on Development Lead who will be working closely with the team members based in London and members of their team in Asia.

The company you’ll be joining is a global ed-tech organisation, which provides high quality tuition to students from over 100 countries and employs more than 3000 staff across multiple continents.

Responsibilities

As an experienced Lead, you will be working on number of exciting projects developed using PHP/Yii and Angular, as well as working and managing their website which is using WordPress CMS. You will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins.

Reporting to the Head of Development, your responsibilities will include:

• Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
• Designing and implementing new features and functionality
• Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
• Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.
• Capable of understanding and contributing to the technical solution from design through to code level
• Working closely with Development Managers and Business Analysts to produce accurate delivery estimates and manage the transition from analysis through to design and delivery
• Define delivery phases of the project including activities, sub-activities, and milestones ensuring these are documented and used as the basis for the project event log, issues and risk log and any subsequent reporting
• Participate in reviews and meetings and provide updates on project progress.
• Take responsibility for ensuring that risks and issues are identified and managed closely and drive all stakeholders to deliver on time and to the required quality standards
