We are seeking a talented Engineering Manager to join a leading tech business – to lead and grow the team while delivering value to customers through creative improvements to the Channel/Retail products and platforms.

In this crucial role, you will be responsible for managing technology services for the Retail division, defining a strategy for consolidating legacy retail platforms, and finding the balance of maintaining and optimizing existing applications. You will manage teams primarily working remotely across Europe and coach and assist others in enhancing their skill sets and achieving great results.

The primary focus of this role is managing software engineering teams, but it also links software and system engineering. You will take ownership of the technical budget, roadmaps, and tasks working with the other senior engineering & product stakeholders.

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead by example and be very much hands-on. You will oversee engineering teams with Team Leads comprising frontend and backend engineers, and full stack.

To be considered for this role, you will have strong experience in people management, hands-on experience with PHP and/or Python, and microservice-driven architectures.

You should also have experience with the latest web development methodologies, tools, and standards. Experience in defining and measuring OKRs, and a proven track record of coaching,mentoring and developing individuals.

This role offers a competitive salary of up to £110k, plus benefits.
