Senior Fullstack Python Software Engineer

The number one FinTech company of 2022 is hiring a Senior Fullstack Python Software Engineer! Founded by digital transformation experts from the leading global financial businesses. This exciting company is growing rapidly and is looking for someone who enjoys mentoring more junior developers and is looking to move to a Lead role soon.

Role: Senior Python Software Engineer

Location: London (2 days per week)

Salary: £75,000 – £90,000

Tech: Python, Django, FastAPI, MySQL, EKS, Lambda, APIGateway, RDS, TypeScript, React, NextJS

Responsibilities:

  • Join a small team working directly with our CTO and founders to build out their Platform
  • Design APIs and ensure documentation everything on Swagger/ OpenAPI language.
  • Build and deliver features to meet new requirements and functionalities. They use AWS to host our deployments (EKS, Lambda, APIGateway, RDS)
  • You will manage the MySQL database maintaining a high level of security. (They may be using Redis soon)
  • Take responsibility for code across their stack
  • Their backend is powered using Python, FastAPI and MySQL
  • Their frontend is built modularly using TypeScript, React and NextJS
  • Become an elemental part of their culture and growth journey on their mission to deliver positive outcome for consumers and improve their financial wellbeing.

You have:

  • Full stack experience (gained experience developing APIs)
  • Strong understanding of different programming languages including Python and Typescript and you are open to learn new things quickly.
  • 5+ years of experience in programming within TDD and CD environments
  • A commitment to well designed and efficient code
  • A passion for delighting the customer by creating compelling user experiences
  • Great communication skills with the ability to explain complex systems in a simple way
  • Past experience and an interest in leading, mentoring and coaching a small team of developers
  • (Desirable) Have developed and deployed a cloud-based architecture across multiple geographies (we use AWS)
