JAVA Developer

This is an excellent opportunity for a Java Developer to work in a fast paced IoT security company based in Reading. The chosen Java Developer will join a small friendly and talented team to maintain and extend the functionality of our core products.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, implement and maintain Java application software
  • To take part in software and architectural development activities
  • Conduct software analysis, programming, testing and debugging
  • Identifying production and non-production application issues
  • Transforming requirements into stipulations
  • Recommend changes to improve established java application processes
  • Develop technical designs for application development
  • Reporting to: CTO and Director, Product Management.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of best practices in software development and ability to work efficiently, both in a team, and
  • independently
  • 5+ years of Java development experience
  • Proficient with Spring Framework and building/maintaining REST APIs
  • Previous exposure to multi-faceted, service-oriented architectures
  • Experience with writing both unit tests and integration tests
  • Proficient working with relational databases
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on product efficiency and scalability
  • Desired Skills
  • Experience with Java BouncyCastle libraries
  • Experience with Encryption (Symmetric and Asymmetric)
  • Messaging and queuing technologies (MQTT, AMQP, Kafka) and enterprise integration patterns
  • Experience with UI technologies like AngularJS or ReactJS.3.
  • Knowledge and experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, etc…)
  • Development experience with IT security products and protocols (PKI) is a plus
