Senior Java Developer – One of UK’s top FinTechs

My client is one of the UK’s fastest growing FinTechs who have just received another round of substantial investment (£60 million). They are transforming the banking industry for small businesses and building a mobile-driven platform to provide modern banking services and their platform is set to sign over 100,000 small businesses by the end of the year as people want to move away the inefficient services offered by the larger, traditional banks.

The platform is going through a complete greenfield program as they are moving away from the monolith and building a platform using the latest tech in a highly-agile environment. The tech stack is Java 8, Spring Boot, AWS, Microservices, Docker and Kubernetes.

They are hiring several Senior Engineers who can get involved in early engineering phases to lay the groundwork. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to make a real difference with responsibilities across many engineering practices in a rapidly expanding company.

You will lead backend engineers across multiple agile teams splitting your time between design, coding, mentoring and managing other team members. You will be the person people turn to seeking advice and solutions to difficult problems. Joining one or more multidisciplinary agile teams, you will be required to work closely with product owners, architects, mobile engineers, and other business members to translate requirements into well-engineered solutions.

What are they looking for?

· Extensive software development experience.

· Experience building server-side applications and detailed knowledge of the relevant programming languages for your stack (i.e Java 8 or newer).

· Sound knowledge of Spring, Spring Boot or another Java backend framework.

· Experience with microservices and Implementing and consuming RESTful APIs.

· Comfortable working in agile methodologies, ideally Scrum.
