Senior PHP Developer – Laravel/AI Application – Remote

Day rate: £350 – £650 outide IR35

My client is looking for an experienced PHP developer, you will have a chance to work with a modern technology stack, solely focused on our product.

You’ll work in close collaboration with the rest of the core engineering team to enhance the experience for our customers.

This will likely involve building out capabilities for new conversational interfaces such as voice and other text based outputs.

Skills & Experience:

Required

  • Strong software development background and experience with enterprise-level software development
  • Expert knowledge (5+ years) of Laravel and similar PHP frameworks, built on top of good object-oriented programming understanding
  • Demonstrable experience of writing testable code and knowledge of PHP Unit or equivalent
  • Experience in designing and implementing stable APIs and services
  • Worked with multiple database solutions (relational and non-relational)
  • Experience with varied software development architectures and methodologies
  • Experience in other programming languages (ideally Python or Java)
  • Experience with containerisation of applications in Docker (or similar)
  • Fluent written and spoken communication in English

Not required but nice to have

  • Familiarity with building conversational experiences – Voice and Chat – for systems such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Chatbot
  • Experience or strong interest in Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP)
