Location: London

You’ll be my client’s Senior Developer working and managing alongside their frontend developers.

Your role will involve integrating and developing backend code in to various systems whilst looking at the bigger picture in terms of workflows and effective processes.

Many of their sites are built using MVC frameworks with some of their more high-traffic sites using WordPress – your job will involve integrating the frontend build, developing new features, working on both building API’s and integrating in to them.

Whilst doing this, you’ll need to be able to react to technical issues and scope out technical implementations.

• ‘We need geo-location setup and running on a site with an average 15,000 page/views an hour – what’s the best roll-out method?’
• ‘Can you fix this Drupal blog issue?’ (we hate Drupal too)
• ‘We need you to upgrade an e-commerce system on x site this afternoon?’

You need to be up for these challenges. You need to be flexible and up for learning new things – quickly and to an extremely high standard.

We Expect to See

Skills & Requirements

• Strong knowledge of PHP (and WordPress), as well as familiarity with at least one MVC framework (ideally Laravel) and OOP in general
• Git knowledge and active usage
• Good working knowledge of systems/servers/DNS and how various elements interact with each other
• Extreme attention to detail

It’d be nice if you had knowledge of (but not required):

• JavaScript and familiarity with a JavaScript framework
• Vagrant and development/workflow tools and services would be a big plus as well
• Linux command line working knowledge
