Senior PHP Developer
Location: London, The City
Salary range: £55k-70k
My client is a prominent provider of SaaS solutions for digital partner marketing. Their customers include the largest and most credible brands on the globe. They are headquartered in the North of England with offices in London, San Francisco, New York, Baltimore, Sydney and Tokyo.
Their consumers have used their platform to track more than $3 billion in advertiser top line revenues across 200,000 marketing partners in over 180 countries. All of this can be monitored in real-time with their web and mobile apps, or directly through their APIs. No other offering in their industry can deliver on this this kind of scale, and their customers love them for it!
The important stuff
At the core of their platform, they track performance marketing data, building a number of solutions to turn this data into useful information for their consumers. They work with a very large number of data, generating over a billion events across their infrastructure in a daily basis. They aim to make as much of this data accessible in real-time as possible, which is no mean feat at this scale! Their platform is API-led and there is no trickery done behind closed doors – their consumers have access to all of their data all of the time.
The essential technologies they use are PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, Redis, Mongo, and PostgreSQL, with Python and Lua also used. The tools they use are Git, Vagrant, and Jenkins. They are regularly evolving their platform and tools to make the most out of the ever-changing tech landscape.
Their development teams are multidisciplinary with engineers, QA, and analysts collaborating using Agile methods. Each team is individually organised, deciding their own work-flow for solving the problems presented to them. They use tribes to share knowledge and ideas across the teams, and to make team-spanning decisions such as coding standards.
They are looking for…
Their culture and work environment are very important to them. Above all else they value their people with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. They applaud self-motivation and a passion for knowledge, as well as those who put their team first.
This is a senior role so clear experience of good software engineering is important.
While experience of the technologies they use is a desirable, strong understanding of fundamental principles that can be shifted to any technology is preferable. My client encourages a mindset of quality and doing the right thing; ego and pride has no place there.
Everyone working together is the foundation of their culture. The ability to communicate in a succinct and focused way, listen to others, and patience are all excellent traits to have. My client wants to help their people develop themselves professionally and personally.
What are they offering?
My client strives to create a fun, and friendly working environment.
They believe a good work-life balance is very important.
They’re in this business for the long haul their team is given time to think and to do things right.
It’s a democracy. Everybody has a voice in how things are done.
They also offer some benefits such as a £500 personal development budget and access to Lynda.com
My client would love to hear from you if you have any questions, want to learn more, or just want to say hey!
