Our client are building a new platform at large scale implementing services architecture and highly distributed systems servicing trillions of transactions to revolutionise a global industry. You will be a part of a team introducing all the latest cutting edge technology. You will be a part of disrupting a market leveraging the acceleration of technology and digital to influence the entire behaviour of a global industry, impacting positive change through ground breaking projects at early stage and influencing technology decisions.

The role:

You will be a part of an engineering team who are discovering creative solutions to solve complex problems that helps them to provide innovative ways for their consumers to use this service.

You will be responsible for working on technology problems ranging from the large scale transformation of a monolith application that processes billions of royalty payments monthly, into scalable, language agnostic services, to using predictive analysis to build recommendation engines that help the team find music to fit briefs from advertising agencies from a catalogue of millions of songs.

They are looking for a software engineer who is curious, adaptable, dependable, always want to learn more, and are able to write clean, tested and reliable code. To begin with, you will likely be coding in Java so some experience of Java or a similar object oriented language will be advantageous.

They follow best practices, test their own code and deploy their own work with the help of our operations team.

Tech they use includes Java, Spark, Python, Scala, Javascript, Node, Go, React, Redux, AWS, Docker, Oracle, SQL (plus loads more)

Experience required:

  • Have a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent working experience
  • Be comfortable in multiple development languages (static and dynamic) including Java, and interested in learning more
  • Have a good understanding of systems design, algorithms, and data structures
  • Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or any proprietary clouds
  • Experience or knowledge with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop) and with microservices architecture
  • Demonstrate a devops-centric approach for delivering high quality and reliable service development, with a test driven approach for delivering clean, tested and reliable code
