System Administrator – London – £40,000 – Jira, First line support, AWS, Windows, TCP/IP

Purpose of the Role

The Junior System Administrator role is a key role in ensuring people in our company can operate efficiently. Responsible range from monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure, deploying our software to various environments, onboarding of new staff, Jira administration and first line support .

A Typical Day

You arrive at the office and ensure that monitoring has not raised any issues. You respond to any alerts from monitoring the infrastructure and security dashboards and raise bugs for the development team. You take on the next support ticket and project work from Jira board, always pushing to get task complete and out to our users.

Responsibilities

Architecture You are responsible for identifying issues in the current network implementation and suggesting solutions based on your experience.

You are comfortable and experienced in operating in an AWS environment.

• You set up PCs and Servers. You provide troubleshooting and support for PCs and Servers where required.
• You configure network connections including routers, internet, VPNs,
• Wi-Fi and ethernet connections.
• You set up network components as directed.
• You ensure systems are patched and within support.

Skills & Experience

• Experience 2 years industry experience in an AWS environment.
• Qualifications AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or AWS Certified Cloud
• Practitioner desirable.
• Professional Experience Must be familiar enough to troubleshoot and maintain:
• Windows 7-10 PCs Windows Server 2012-2016 Linux, Ubuntu 14.04+ or similar
• Experience of TCP/IP networks is essential.
• Experience in automating management of systems and applications using BASH, Perl or Python desirable.
• Experience with Google G Suite desirable.
• Experience with Virtualization/Containers desirable.
• Experience with Active Directory desirable
