Tech Lead- £500.00 per day- Berkshire
Our client is a global leader within the connected car space, you will have the opportunity to work on a global app to shape the future of how consumers use this service in 28+ countries. As a tech lead you will have full autonomy and ownership of the mobile app responsible for the delivery and roll out of this new service.
The role:
The development area is responsible for all the Business Analysis, Programme/Project management, Software Development and Performance Management of applications. This encompasses new development & projects as well as the maintenance of existing and legacy systems and solutions.
The key objective of this position is to take technical ownership of web and mobile deliveries as required.
You will manage technical deliveries across a range of platforms to meet the goals of the appropriate project, interfacing with business analyst, project manager and testers as well as keeping a focus on performance of the solution.
Key Accountabilities
- You are responsible for the day to day running of one or multiple project deliveries. This includes responsibility for solution design, best practice, standards and performance optimisation.
- Accountable for planning and managing day-to-day activities associated with delivery of the technical aspects of the project plan.
- Management of multiple development partners or an outsourced development team to ensure delivery against the objectives, to the required standards and in line with the project plan.

- Creates and maintain a positive working environment and foster team working, both within the department and between departments.
- As member of the Application Delivery leadership team, the role holder may be asked to fulfil other general IT management duties as well – for example related to financial management, organisation design, change management and other interim management duties

- Within Portfolio work with peers and the Technical Product Manager to ensure
- Applications that perform within agreed service criteria
- Implemented applications that do not have more than agreed level of priority bugs
- Rationalisation and standardisation of toolsets and methodologies

- High visibility of the progress of the developers
- Systems & enhancements that meet full DLC & SDLC requirements that are fully SOx & PCI compliant

Skills and Experience
Required
- A minimum of 5 years experience of leading, supporting or working alongside an offshore or hybrid development team
- Proven track record of delivering (or managing delivery of) performant, standards compliant web sites
- Experience of working within Agile development projects and as part of an Agile team
- Good understanding of common interface structures such as XML, JSON
- Significant experience of delivering software solutions in a commercial environment
- Work experience in a complex international environment interfacing to business and IT leadership
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Commercially aware
- Flexible and adaptable
- Comes from a technical development background with hands on experience
- Experience developing mobile applications in a fast paced commercial environment
- Knowledge of mobile application development patterns and best practises
- Experience in third party integrations into mobile applications
- Experience of Hybrid and Native applications using Phonegap / Cordova / Angular / React Native
- Experience leading an offshore based team of developers and testers
- Full Development Lifecycle experience
- Experience in integrating REST and SOAP services
