Tech Lead – E-commerce Payment Gateway

Our client is a leading e-commerce payment gateway that provides online merchants with a fault-tolerant and reliable payment processing platform to sell products and services worldwide. They are looking for a highly motivated Tech Lead to join and lead a team of 10-15 software engineers based in the UK, Canada, US & Romania. This role will play a pivotal part in the future growth of the UK-based software engineering team.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems
• Perform code reviews and enforce best practices
• Investigate and debug production issues across services and across the multiple levels of the stack
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes * Write and maintain technical documentation

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience and actively hands-on with Java, MySQL, Tomcat, Linux
• Experience of leading senior & junior engineers on a day to day basis
• Payments or FinTech experience
• Experience with: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3
• Very good understanding of algorithms and data structures
• Very good understanding and experience on applying design patterns to complex software systems
• Experience in developing highly concurrent software systems
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Enjoy and have experience building and integrating APIs
• SDLC: Agile, CICD
• Experience with Docker, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Jenkins, Git, JIRA, Confluence
• Thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts
• Experience working with remote team members

Benefits:

• Salary depending on experience is up to 130k per annum, plus bonus + benefits.

Location:

• Remote – can be based anywhere in the UK
