Technical Lead / Architect – .Net OR Java, Big Data

Job Description: Start-up Software Architect – London – Knowledge of languages and frameworks for building large-scale applications (eg Java, .NET)

My client is a private equity firm with investments in the fintech, online marketing as well as online gaming spaces. In addition to investments in existing start-ups, we are incubating our own products with the goal of spinning them out as independent companies.

We are looking for a Software Architect, a project focussing on AI-driven automated marketing.

The platform improves and automates B2C marketing campaigns (emails, SMS, push notifications) by personalising actions based on users’ characteristics and behaviours. Using machine learning algorithms, they are able to learn from historic campaigns and continuously optimises to recommend the Next Best Action for each customer.

We have built a working product which is in commercial use, and need a Software Architect to help us scale by building a more robust infrastructure and front-end, as well as optimise our database backend.

Responsibilities

You will have the opportunity to design and implement a full stack infrastructure for a green field project, and choose the right programming languages and frameworks. Although we expect you to be hands-on, you’re main responsibility will be to scope and oversee the design and build of the software solution and manage junior developers / contractors as necessary.

You will work alongside a team of data scientists as well as a commercial team who will be responsible for the machine learning solution and the business requirements, respectively, so strong communication and project management skills are key.

Skills & Experience

• Product Implementation experience and a proven track record of delivering software solutions from an idea to working, scalable product
• Solution architecture and design experience
• Knowledge of languages and frameworks for building large-scale applications (eg Java, .NET)
• Familiarity with relational, document and graph databases
