My client is looking to develop a passionate, dynamic and creative individual to be able to assist with both current and new large-scale technical investigations. Upon successful completion of their training, the candidate will be asked to work closely with other units within the organisation. The ideal candidate will be creative, innovative and demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop their skillset. Given the nature of the role and the demands of our members, candidates should be flexible and able to work out of hours if required or participate in periods of self-study.

As this is a trainee role, the candidate will be subject to a probationary period of 3 months and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (“CRB”) check.

Requirements

To be considered, the trainee must be able to demonstrate the following: – must have technical degree

  • A qualification in a computing discipline and/or relevant professional certifications.
  • Experience of Microsoft Office Suite (2013 preferable).
  • Experience of problem solving and/or project work.
  • Able to demonstrate an awareness of both criminal and civil evidence production.
  • An ability to produce basic reports, documents and presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • The ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in working with large data sets.
  • The ability to research a given entity and to provide feedback on initial findings.

Preferable

  • Knowledge of Internet based protocols such as P2P / TCPIP.
  • Knowledge of Internet Technologies such as: –
  • HTML / JavaScript / PHP / SQL
  • Mobile Applications
  • Experience of intermediaries such as online advertising and payment processing.
  • Applicable legislation such as: –
  • Digital Millennium Copyright Act Section 512 (United States)
  • Copyright, Designs & Patents Act 1988 (United Kingdom)
  • Computer Misuse Act 1990
  • Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2002
  • The Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002
