Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced professional QA Performance Test Engineer to manage the performance testing and adaption requirements of the Software Defined Mainframe (SDM). Working in continuous delivery/testing environment you will be working with a team of technicians, developers and system testers in multiple time zones and multiple locations. As a QA test engineer, you will be equally as adept technically as you are with testing.

There may be some international travel so you must currently be eligible to work in the UK and fly internationally.

Duties & responsibilities:

• Working as part of the team that validates performance of the LzLabs Software Defined Mainframe®
• Diagnosing and reporting bottlenecks
• Generating high-quality performance metrics
• Configuring large-scale test environments – in house and the cloud (inc Azure and AWS)
• Accurately provide project (EPIC’s / Story / Task) testing estimates
• Participation in development and test meetings
• Leading project specific performance meetings
• Employ Continuous Improvement methods to ensure robust and thorough testing
• Write automated test cases and script them on the chosen test platform
• Maintain effective communication with the project software engineers on project limitation, capability, performance requirement and hardware interface changes
• Monitor testing performance to prevent reoccurrence of program operating problems and ensure efficiency of operation

Essential Skills:

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in performance testing and engineering
• Experience of Jira, Git and Jenkins Exposure to Cloud Services – AWS and Azure
• Extensive experience in low-level Linux (particularly RedHat distribution) system programming, containers and particularly features related to real-time, large scale, parallel architectures with concerns for high data integrity
• Adept of Open Source software and familiar with the practices of this community
• Good knowledge (practice and SQL knowledge) of OSS relational databases particularly PostgreSQL
• Highly proficient in the entire performance testing life cycle, defining testing strategy, process, plans, methodologies and test environments
• Expertise in tools such as JMeter, Blazemeter and tools to capture and measure Linux performance metrics
• Must possess a strong knowledge of enterprise application architectures and technologies, including databases and messaging layers in complex, transaction-intensive systems
• Very strong performance engineering root-cause analysis and reporting experience, with expert ability to capture and interpret technical metrics from application, database, OS, and network layers
• Ability to clearly characterise and report system performance test results to stakeholders, including development teams and executives
• Debugging and analysis of system logs
