QA Engineer

QA Engineer – London – £40,000 – QA, Hardware, Firmware, automation

My client is a leading Digital business in a very exciting space, they are looking for an up and coming QA Engineer to work in their diverse development team

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic QA Engineer to join the QA Team. You will take responsibility for ensuring the quality of firmware across our innovative range of hardware products

The ideal candidate will have a broad range of experience that demonstrates key competencies necessary to succeed in this role including organisation, self-motivation, and the ability to work successfully within a team. You will also take initiative and drive change when needed.

What you’ll do:

• Ensure quality of firmware across the hardware product range
• Work closely with the firmware team and the QA team to specify and test new features
• Run regression tests before new releases
• Maintain up to date test plans
• Develop the use of test automation across the firmware team

What you’ll need:

• Experience and success working with embedded systems
• Demonstrable QA experience within a commercial environment
• An ability to understand and talk about complex technical problems
• Excellent organisation skills and an eye for detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with excellent written English
• Superb and demonstrable time-management skills and the ability to work independently

Bonus points:

• Knowledge of hardware music controllers (including MIDI protocol)
• Some C or C++ coding experience
• Familiarity with Agile development processes
• Knowledge of bug tracking systems (e.g. Jira)
