Technical Lead/QA | Contract 3-6 months | (Hybrid working, 1-3 days per week onsite in MK or London) (Utility background preferred)

My client is looking for a Senior Developer/Tech lead, with good assurance and design experience, to join their team. Unlike most delivery roles, it will be more of a consultative role. My client needs help with assurance, and coding-related assistance in one of their squads as well as ad-hoc coding/coding-related assistance. Specifically, the type of assurance will be levelled at the estimates exercises they go through. This person will need to challenge and support or critique estimates that come in.

• This technical lead will need to:-
  • Sit over all the PODs teams / POD development leads, be a single lead developer for the Geotech Insight product, working to deliver against the common backlog.
  • Own the merging together of separate products over time
  • Manage the code / branching strategy and be able to identify conflicts and dependencies when they do code branching/merging / cherry-pick for releases.
  • Work with other technical leads for the programme overall, Insight, etc to identify opportunities to reuse code.
  • Work with architects to give expert views on design feasibility and how we can meet NFRs.
  • Work with PMs to ensure deliver forecasts from PODs/project plans are accurate.

*Technologies are not the important bit for this role, the focus is on assurance, this candidate needs to be familiar with coding trunks & branches and have experience reviewing / understanding estimates.. The candidate needs to be a detailed person. They should know what a good story should look like & be able to assess if would be able to be handed off to other people who would then be able to run with it. Needs to be confident working across other suppliers & be able to challenge.

Candidates need to be able to come into the office 1-3 days a week either in Milton Keynes or London, A utilities background is preferred.
