Technical Test Engineer

Role: Technical Test Engineer (Financial Market)

Location: London & Remote

Salary: 40-55k + Bonus + Benefits

As the Technical Test Engineer, we expect you to work closely with the Technical Test expert to contribute to:

Technical Test Engineer is expected to:

• Contribute to the defining of new environment infrastructure set up and the creation of supporting documentation
• Maintenance of the Test Environment schedule
• Coordination of the x-platform test environment preparation (build/refresh), ensuring it is progressing according to plan and escalating issues accordingly
• Environment impact assessment of communicated infrastructure change e.g. security patches
• Provides guidance on ensuring requested environment(s) are correctly setup and ready on time to start the testing stages described in the HLTS
• Escalates risks, issues concerns to the Test manager as required
• Interfaces with relevant stakeholders (Hotline teams, GTS, etc..) for environment impact assessment & problem resolution
• Reviews/analyse environment issue trends
• Create and proactive maintenance of SOPs and Environment topology generated from lessons learned and process improvement/efficiencies
• Communicates weekly test schedule to support teams
• Communicates environment priority to support teams
• Analysis and identify technical test requirements for infrastructure projects.
• recognize and classify the typical risks associated with the performance, security, reliability, portability and maintainability of software systems
• prepare and execute the appropriate test activities, and report on their progress
• conduct technical testing activities

Essential Experience

• Advanced Excel skills
• Knowledge of SQL
• Experience of working in the finance industry
• 1 to 2 years of hands on Test environment management and experience in working in infrastructure projects
• Experience of working in agile environment
• Experience of working in BDD, TDD environments

• Exposure to Non-functional testing and automation tools for non-functional testing (Performance testing)
• Exposure to Test automation tools e.g. UFT
