Our partners are working on an exciting cognitive city project in the Middle East – they are specifically looking for product managers that can work well in the tourism space.
The Product Manager is responsible for delivering product opportunities through strategy development, opportunity sizing, experimentation and outcome/objective definition.
They are expected to define the product vision and roadmaps across the account, working closely with the Product Owner(s) and Project Manager to ensure the product vision is delivered within scope and budget. Ultimately, the Product Manager is responsible for successful product development – leading a vertically-integrated product team.
Core Activities
Define product visions and strategies that anticipate the needs of the project, validated by assumptions of future trends across economic, technological, and socio-political dimensions. Collaborate with SMEs and researchers to identify assumptions etc.
Lead a vertically-integrated product team in exploring new users/user needs/market opportunities/service ideas for the project. Evaluate opportunity size, type, and strategic fit.
Identify opportunities to evolve and add to current product streams within the project portfolio. Validate the opportunity and required investment, working closely with Principal Consultants and Project management to ensure buy-in from both project stakeholders and our organisation.
Define product roadmaps that outline the scope and evolution of products over time, and work closely with Product Owners to ensure high-level priorities are aligned and delivered on time and scope.
Identify the delivery squad capabilities required to delivery against the scope, and working with the Product Owner(s) and Project manager to define the process potential squad makeup
Define KPIs for products within the portfolio, and analysing the impact of the product delivery for users/business/etc and ensuring they support the overall product vision
Work closely with project management to align the product strategy with resourcing, budget, and profitability forecasting and requirements – and ensure the effective functioning of a high-performance team culture.
Day-to-day tasks
Support business development efforts by providing product expertise
Validating assumptions through research, testing, scenario modelling etc.
Week-to-week tasks
Provide leadership and direction to ensure the effective functioning of high-performance product teams.
Oversee user research, experiments or exploration sprints with design, eng, etc.
Identify opportunities for expanding or adding value streams through product strategy creation
Work with SMEs and other stakeholders align on high-level product dependencies
Support Product Owner(s) with escalations
Month-to-month tasks
Roadmap updates for value stream
Scope prioritization and metric performance reviews with PO(s)
Communicate progress and impact to our organisation and the project stakeholders
Quarterly tasks
Product vision, roadmap and resource forecasting updates
