Merchandise Manager – Perishables

As Merchandise Manager of the perishable portfolio you will be responsible for a category that generates a $1B turnover. This role will see you reporting into the Head of Merchandise, and responsible for delivering competitive, profitable and compelling merchandise offerings to consumers.

So, apart from having proven experience in a perishable category and the ability to identify new trends from international markets you will also need to demonstrate:

• Ability to contribute constructively to long term strategies
• Develop valuable relationships with both suppliers and partners
• Maintain category forecasts & budgets
• Understanding of product short term shelf life
• Appetite to achieve in a very competitive market
• Proven commercial understanding

With a role like this you will also be responsible for a team made up of Category Managers, Category Assistants and buyers you will be comfortable mentoring and managing people in a collaborative environment.
