Commercial Manager – Northern Region

THE OPPORTUNITY

This newly created Senior Leadership position has been established due to growth and future business plans. We are looking for a well-rounded Operational/Sales/People Leader to manage the Northern Region (Auckland, Waikato and BOP), a team of 95. If you are looking for a desk job, this is not the one for you! You will report to the General Manager who has a wealth of industry knowledge and passionate about the business and industry. You will cover a range of areas within the Northern Region business including sales, operations, safety & environmental compliance, strategic business development (P & L analysis, reporting etc), culture, resourcing and employee relations, performance and customer service.

Operating in New Zealand for 21 years, this Australian owned industrial and environmental business is highly regarded in their industry. With a stable team, they are a testament to their business and run a solid operation in NZ. They strive to provide excellence in customer service, and this is at the forefront of what they do. This business is not complicated in nature, they are down to earth and practical and take responsibility for their impact on the environment. The culture is not corporate in nature, so you will be not bogged down in KPIs but will be rewarded for your ability to get into the business and understand the operations.

YOUR BACKGROUND

You are a hands-on Operational/Sales/Customer Centric focussed person that enjoys people management and wearing a variety of hats. You are a strategic, personable person who is entrepreneurial by nature. You like to solve problems by getting into the thick of it and understanding the people, operations and business. You have a proven track record in Sales and Business Development and will take the lead on this for the region. You may have worked in Transport or an Industrial business, but this is not a pre-requisite.
