Customer Service Specialist – Freight Forwarding

ABOUT THE COMPANY

This well-established NZ owned company with an international presence, deliver freight logistics solutions across the globe. They operate a “one stop shop” of freight forwarding, customs brokerage, supply chain distribution, warehousing and 3PL, specialising in importation of automotive, caravan and RV. They are now on the hunt for an Operations Representative to join their Operations team.

ABOUT THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The main purpose of the role is the proactive and efficient management of the shipment process from start to finish for their clients. It is a combination role whereby you are responsible for managing a trade lane and resolving any service issues and identifying areas for operational improvement. The balance of the role is approximately 80% imports and 20% exports

Your responsibilities will include

· Liaising with international Agents and manage the shipments requirements

· Tracking cargo, dealing with any queries, and managing client expectations

· Gathering and collating all the customs documents

· Invoicing customers after delivery

· Arranging delivery and dehire as applicable. Liaising with trucking company and scheduling trucks nationally

WHAT YOU NEED?

This role requires a cool head under pressure as you will be working at pace on high volumes. You will also need :

· At least 1-2 years freight operations experience in the freight/freight forwarding industry

· EDI/Cargo wise skills

· Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail

· To be a solutions orientated thinker

· Strong multitasking skills

· Proactive in approach in managing a busy workload
