About the company

We are proud to represent our client who are a non-government, not for profit community organisation that provides homes for people of low incomes in Auckland. They do this both as an experienced developer of innovative medium density housing and providing best practice tenancy and property management. They focus on the well being of their tenants and their communities to fulfil their mission of “Good Homes for all”.

About the role

The organisation is in growth mode and as a result they now have a newly created role for an Operations Specialist! Reporting to the Operations Manager the role offers variety and would suit someone who thrives in an environment where they can genuinely affect positive outcomes for communities whilst utilising their strong stakeholder management, coordination, and operational skills. From creating reports and supporting the tenancy team meeting occupancy targets to creating and coordinating events for the communities, you will be at the stage of your career where you are able to manage a large, varied portfolio of work and be excited by the prospect of moving up the career ladder.

Your primary objectives will include:

  • Supporting the delivery of all the organisations operations such as the tenancy services, property services, tenant, and community engagement
  • Maintaining and improving the quality and increasing the scope of services.
  • Supporting the growth and monitoring the quality of the property portfolio.
  • Fostering partnerships with key stakeholders including a mix of government, non-government, private and community sector agencies in the planning, development, and delivery of community housing.

About you

We are looking for someone who has strong operational skills and experience and has the potential to step up and take on more responsibility as the company grows. You will be someone who

  • Can communicate with a variety of people effectively, respectfully and in a culturally sensitive manner.
  • Has a focus on process improvement – “how can we do things better”?
  • An ability to liaise and negotiate with landlords and real state agents
  • Well organised with good time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and can demonstrates initiative in all areas of work practice.
  • Good practical problem-solving abilities
  • Can demonstrate good self-care and stress management in the work practice.
  • Background in housing, property management, health, or community an advantage but not essential
