Data Engineer

Are you a Data Engineer ready to take on your next challenge?

This business has grown exponentially over the past year and is looking to continue this growth and development by developing and improving on their current data insights platform.

In this role you will be working with a strong team of data engineers on one of NZ’s only truly Big Data platforms, moving data within their applications by creating and maintaining data pipelines, as well as other scalable data solutions. You’ll be responsible for translating business needs into data structures and flows on the already impressive platform. This is an opportunity to help with the data architecture, strategy and delivery thereof.

What we are looking for:

• Solid experience in a similar role or a Software Engineer background would be advantageous.

• Very experience using Python as well as other open source languages

• Use ETL and Big Data techniques to build out end-to-end data pipelines, preferably have used Spark or similar

• Understanding of modern data platforms and technologies, such as SQL, building DW/Data Lakes, Distributed Computing, Data Streaming and Data Modelling.

• Experience with Cloud Platform/s: CI/CD, Containerisation and DevOps

• Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the Data teams. Able to participate in regular team meetings and work with peers to ensure data availability
