UI UX Designer

Salt is looking for an Interaction Designer for a 6-month extendable contract role.

What Will You Do:

• Help define flows, interaction design and detailed user interface specs for features on an unreleased consumer facing product
• Create detailed wireframes, mocks, and lightweight prototypes following a user-centered process to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, business, and marketing teams to define, execute, and launch features that maximize end user, developer, and business value & impact.
• Work with research team to validate concepts and execute iterations on learnings.
• Inspire creativity and partner with visual designers, illustrators and motion designers to deliver fun, delightful and engaging experiences for our users.
• Take input, requirements, and feedback from multiple stakeholders across different cross-functional organizations. Participate in regular design reviews with a strong ability to communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale effectively
• Help to define the user model and user interface for new and existing products and features. Develop high level and/or detailed storyboards, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
• Gauge the usability of new and existing products and making constructive suggestions for change.
• Requirements: Solid academic background in human-computer interaction or related field. Demonstrated experience in designing usable web-based interfaces. Solid HTML skills. Knowledge of JavaScript for rapid prototyping purposes. Strong visual design sense. Excellent leadership, communication and teamwork skills.

What Will You Need:

• 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Strong interaction design skills, knowledge of the user-centered design process
• Fluency with visual and interaction design tools (Figma) as well as ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to manage time and tasks and collaborate effectively while working remotely
• Experience designing for and leading user facing products from concept to launch
• Detail oriented and a strong sense and understanding of visual design
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage and execute projects independently Prototyping skills (coding skills nice to have, but not required)
• Highly collaborative with other designers, user researchers, content strategists, product managers, engineers, and marketing teams.
• Experience in mobile, consumer facing products and design for emerging markets preferred.
