Lead Product Designer

Our team is working with a startup that believes paying people should be easy.

We’re seeking a Lead Product designer to provide powerful and simple experiences for payroll businesses integrating, operating, and scaling via our client’s platform.

*Please note: You MUST have the previous product design experience to apply for this role or you will NOT be considered. You must have at LEAST 5 years of experience designing end-to-end products and successfully shipping them*

Main Responsibilities:

• Embed with different research and development teams to define what they build and how
• Partner with research and development leadership to optimize current product design processes
• Get user insights through user testing
• Collaborate in a fast-paced environment spanning design, product, engineering, compliance, and payroll operations
• Communicate regularly, incorporating both low and high-fidelity design
• Communicate both UI and API mental model

What you might work on:

• Interfaces and tooling for partners to manage and scale their businesses
• Out-of-the-box, embeddable UI components of essential payroll functions to accelerate the build-out of core payroll features
• Onboarding flows for employers to run their payrolls easily
• Their design system drives quality, consistency, and velocity
• Best practices/examples for how to design a payroll product

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years of experience of relevant product design experience
• System thinker with a knack for simplifying complex problems. From ideation to final delivery, you have a knack for uncovering patterns and opportunities to efficiently evolve design systems
• Exceptional design chops-working with the best design patterns but innovating where it’s needed to push the quality of visual design and UX of core products
• Your ability to take abstract concepts and transform them into tangible and compelling stories across mediums and channels reflects your ability to convince internal and external stakeholders about your work and process.
• Your exceptional attention to detail and insight into current trends drive you to relentlessly advocate for solutions that are good for our end users, whether internally or externally.

Must-Have Skills:

• Figma
• Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc)

Bonus points

• Have payroll experience
• Have an interest in API design
• Working experience in creating pattern libraries and a passion for product design systems
• Have experience in designing/building motion design patterns
