Packaging Designer

Seeking an experienced Packaging designer to join a beauty/wellness agency in #NYC.

*NYC location preferred, but the designer can be remote. Open to #canadian designers as well!*

– Must have Rhino 3D experience. This is a requirement. We cannot consider you otherwise.
– Must have bottle creation experience. (ex. perfume bottles, cosmetic containers, alcohol glass bottles)
– Must have experience creating primary/secondary packaging.
– Must be comfortable being the agency’s first “in-house” packaging designer.
– Must be capable of end-to-end designs.

What You’ll Be Doing:

· MUST have experience using Rhino3D – we cannot consider you without this.

· Must be aware of the current landscape and trends

· Create rendered 3D components, including form, materiality, and apply 2D deco /artwork

· Ability to concept and model 3D custom packaging

· Ensure packaging maintains a design aesthetic that’s appealing and all necessary information

· Create and own client-facing packaging presentations

· Collaborate with Art Directors creating packaging guidelines for client hand-off and review and provide feedback for print-ready mechanicals

· Must have the ability to quickly generate iterative concepts

· Maintain a clear understanding of project objectives from ideation to completion

· Ability to source/select vendors and lead vendor communications and partnerships

· Hands-on to cascade brand identity, look, and feel, into a consistent visual approach for packaging design (primary components and secondary cartons) across a broad range of product families for stock and custom components

What You MUST know before applying:

· Comfortable using 3D design software: knowledge of Rhinoceros is REQUIRED

· 3 – 5+ years in beauty product and packaging design

· Personal interest in beauty, wellness, and lifestyle

· Must be a self-starter, okay with being the first in-house packaging designer

· Have openness and a desire to learn and grow

· Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude

· Able to learn/thrive in a fast-paced environment

· Able to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously

· Comfortable using Adobe Creative Suite

· Comfortable using rendering software: knowledge of Keyshot is encouraged

· Ensure high standards and quality assurance across all work produced so that it is cohesive, consistent, and brand-aligned

· A constant evaluation of internal processes to identify and recommend improvements
