Business Intelligence Team Lead

Our client is a trusted leader in Data Intelligence with offices across the globe in 17 countries. They offer solutions for our clients, primarily in the retail, non-profit, and financial services industries.

The NY team is currently looking to bring on a Data Visualization/ Business Intelligence Team lead. The successful candidate will serve both as a PMO-style leader and a Lead Developer on smaller scale projects.

While this is a consulting role – the client works around a 40 hour work week structure, with flexible hours, and minimal travel.

The successful candidate will:

• Manage all aspects related to the ongoing progress of the project starting from the design phase (business requirements gathering, available information analysis, architectural analysis) through the development phases, QA, and transition to customer.
• Guide and oversee a team of data technology developers to work together to complete the project quickly and most efficiently. Maintaining timelines, sprints, budget, and risks for projects.
• Serve as a Project Manager but be able to dive deep technically when necessary, serving as the lead developer for the project.
• Lead in BI Roadmap processes
• Perform PoC processes on customer sites to evaluate plausibility of potential solutions.

The successful candidate will have:

• 4+ years experience in Data Engineering or Business Intelligence (either as a business intelligence/data visualization developer or analyst)
• At least 1+ years of experience managing and leading technical teams
• Project management experience with the ability to oversee a team of engineers, agile preferred
• Strong understanding of MSSQL databases and ETL related technologies (SSIS, Informatica, Alteryx, etc.) is preferred
• Experience working directly with Business Intelligence reporting tools such as Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI, MSTR, etc.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or related field
