Technical Product Owner – Platform

My client is building a new digital platform to accelerate an industry’s transition towards a new digital and more sustainable era. As a company, they are uniquely positioned to succeed being backed by a global player. They are building a unique set of analytics and data products that will be fed from a modern, cloud-based data platform. It will facilitate the ability to connect hundred of customers, thousands of systems, and a number of 3rd party partners across the globe to a single integrated data set. This will be an industry first. You will own it.

How can you be part of our success?

• Working closely with CPO and CTO to establish the platform’s business value, data architecture, technology directions, and support messaging, communication and customer outreach as necessary
• Setting ambitious and clear platform vision and communicate it effectively to stakeholders, the team, and the rest of the unit
• Owning the data model and data architecture and integration strategy to enable our platform to connect across hundreds or thousands of systems at scale
• Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure digital vision and the platform align with key requirements to build our products, align with team strategy and the requirements for each sprint
• Being accountable for platform specific KPIs once solution enters production and communicate regular tracking to stakeholders
• Utilizing market and industry knowledge to translate product and user needs into user stories and acceptance criteria for the platform team. Maintain a backlog 3 to 4 sprints ahead of the team
• Facilitating release planning with stakeholders as well as weekly demos
• Being a key role on Agile team(s) and works onsite with the team on a daily basis
• Integrating usability studies and research into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction and ensure customer driven design

What are we looking for?

• Expertise in data platforms, data products, and agile product ownership. Someone who is keen to own and commercialize a data-as-a-product capability
• 5+ years of experience building modern, cloud-based, data platforms (e.g., data lakes, data warehouse, CDP) with demonstrated experience in translating business requirements into data architectures and data models
• 3+ years of experience in digital product management
• Experience with data governance and data quality practices and codifying these capabilities into data products
• Strong collaborator with cross-functional teams from tech, design, and business
• Proven knowledge and understanding of standard practices, technology and supporting industry principles
• Understanding and knowledge of various roles of the SaaS marketplace, e.g., customer acquisition, marketplace ops, etc. and how they interact with product offering
• Experienced in facilitating agile ceremonies, managing a backlog/release plan, tracking team level metrics, removing blockers (burndown chart, release burn up, etc.)
• Deep experience leading with teams in an agile setting, has worked with engineering or cross functional digital teams
• Strong leader, collaborator, team player, and individual contributor
