• You’re a cooperative person. You can converse with designers, product owners and senior partners. You’re not only a coder; you’re somebody who knows how to get things made. You start envisioning how to transform experiences into products as soon as you hear the concept, and you realize how to prod for the right direction before you start hacking endlessly. You may have driven others and shipped an experience generally welcomed by users, one that wasn’t simply incremental change but an entirely new product
• In your free time, you’ve teamed up with friends to conduct experiments outside of work.
• You have specialized ability. You can make platforms and APIs (and you’ve done it previously). We’re open about language and approach insofar as you’re working in a codebase you’re confident writing for and which you realize will deliver the right outcomes. You can translate the code of others, and you know your way around legacy architecture and infrastructure
• You’ve been exposed to the architecture for a huge, high-scale application that incorporates into multiple systems
• You put users first. You accept that users ought to have the loudest voice in the room. You make to learn. You get the role of validation and its place in the product development process.
• You’re so RESTful, even your microwave has a URL. You’re the mullet of developers: party in the frontend, business in the back. You realize when to go SQL, NoSQL and graph. You have a point of view on AngularJS versus React versus Backbone.
• Your code is so clean it’s almost self-documenting.
• You’ve worked in an agile group and can sprint like Usain Bolt.
• Your experience is quality over quantity. Total years of experience isn’t significant, however an understanding of what it takes to build a product from scratch is. You’ve been in charge of creating products that have successfully gone to market. Your portfolio ranges over mobile/desktop and platforms (e.g., iOS, Android).

What you’ll do

• Work closely with Engineering Leadership to drive the general technical vision and design
• Build up the platform architectural strategy for adaptable cross-cutting technology and product concerns
• Join forces with Product Engineering, Data Science, and Platform Service groups to architect, build and ship scalable systems, libraries, and frameworks
• Design backend microservice architectures that are performant, scalable, and deliver enormous datasets
• Evaluate new technologies
• Coach engineers and keep the bar high

Your Skill set

• Inside and out comprehension of OOP, microservice design patterns, domain driven design, data structures, algorithms, and concurrency
• Knowledge of secure, distributed, scalable, high-performance, resilient systems
• Event sourcing, CQRS, stream processing design patterns
• Involvement with or solid enthusiasm for AWS Cloud Native technologies (Lambda, API Gateway, Cloudformation)
• Data architecture and management (SQL, Hadoop, Mongo, Cassandra, Spark)
• GraphQL, REST, and gRPC API based services
• Solid capability or professional involvement in one of the following backend languages: NodeJS, Java, Python, Scala. GoLang
• Use of continuous integration and delivery technologies at a high level; has the ability and interest to teach others best practices
