Software Engineer

Join a security startup with $30M in funding in their brand new office in Manhattan. This mission-critical Backend Engineering role will see you coding in Python to integrate their software with a variety of embedded devices, so a longstanding interest in lower-level programming will definitely get their attention!

Founded in 2012, their product is a security framework that can be deployed on any hardware device, regardless of operating system and without access to the manufacturer’s source code. The product was rigorously tested in academia before being spun out into a private company and has won contracts with the largest manufacturers of ATM’s and printers in the US.

Their ideal hire is a backend python engineer who owns a soldering iron!

What you’ll do:

• Build reverse engineering toolchain with distributed design
• Build an automated testing farm
• Work with Security Researchers to build security software for black-box embedded devices
• Build and optimize core backend applications to handle massive sets of binary data

The ideal hire has:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related major
• Production Python experience
• Knowledge of contemporary software development practices
• Strong desire to work in a startup environment

Nice to Have’s

• Experience or interest in lower-level programming – Assembly / ARM / MIPS / PPC
• Deep knowledge of operating system design
• Knowledge of reverse engineering in hardware and software
