VP of Software engineering

Salt are exclusively searching for a VP of Software engineering for a forward thinking, market leading, consumer business who has over 15 million users.

The role will see you drive engineering excellence and work with the founders of a business that has touched millions of lives globally; having a major impact on human relationships.

Your role will be to empower the product and engineering teams, offering support and guidance on projects working on highly complex systems. You should have excellent communication skills and worked successfully as a leader for large distributed engineering teams globally.

Your main priority will be driving the success of others and using existing knowledge of running numerous engineering projects within an Agile environment. Having a consumer focused background is imperative for this role due to the nature of the work you’ll be doing.

• Previously managed software engineering teams of 15 + engineers
• Worked closely with multidisciplinary teams within Consumer led organizations
• Programming background in one or more of the following Languages – Java, C, C++, JavaScript or Python
• Worked with Data Structures and algorithms on highly complex systems – design, implementation, testing and maintenance
• Exposure to mobile technologies such as IOS, object C, Swift and Android Java
• Background conducting diligent code reviews, first-pass QA and contribute to code when needed
• Built high-performing teams and consistently deliver results
• Seek the greatest return on time investment to maximize engineering teams work
• Comfortable with productive disagreement and not conflict avoidant
• Technical and project management experience as well as cross-functional and/or cross-organizational relationship-building
