Digital PR Account Director

Our client in CAPE TOWN is looking for an ambitious, and proactive Digital PR Account Director to lead and develop their B2B and B2C accounts with integrated communications solutions. The agency is in an exciting phase of shifting towards being more digital in nature. The right person will also have experience in a traditional PR role and must be able to support and drive the transfer of digital PR expertise to the broader team. In this regard, you will need to bring excellent team management and delegation skills to the agency. Working with the Managing Director, this role will also help the agency to develop the digital client base through the recruitment of new business.

The ideal candidate must be able to forge strong, profitable and long-term relationships with clients and will be responsible for developing and overseeing strategies for our clients, helping them achieve their digital marketing goals, including increased online presence and digital PR goals.

This is an exciting opportunity that is perfect for someone who is experienced and keen for a great challenge, and the chance to really take ownership of a process and to build & develop it. Here’s what you need to know:

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7 year’s agency experience in traditional and digital media strategy, planning and buying
  • Planning and oversight of campaigns, both on and offline, including print, broadcast, experiential, web, SEO/SEM, email and social media.
  • Previous recent experience working in an agency environment at Senior Account Manager / Account Director level
  • Digital native, expertise in all digital channels: PPC, SEO, Content, Social, Programmatic, etc.
  • Experience of fully integrated solutions, including PR and offline activity
  • Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills, with experience of liaising with clients at senior level
  • Demonstrable commercial experience with experience of effectively managing budgets for campaigns
  • Experience in compilation and supporting an MD/CEO in leading new business pitches.
  • Proven strategic ability
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Management reporting experience essential
  • To understand the unique requirements of working for a small agency
