Job Description

The E-commerce Channel Lead, reporting to the Managing Director, is responsible for all of the company’s e-commerce sales channels, ensuring business growth through directing and managing operational activities in e-commerce and to ensure these are executed in accordance with organizational and business strategy. The individual should already have demonstrated proven ability and success in building an online business. The position will be based in either Johannesburg or Cape Town.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Assume full accountability for e-commerce channel and performance contributing towards business goals, building the company’s brands’ e-commerce presence
  • Assess, prioritize, manage and execute across all B2B and B2C e-commerce channels to ensure a consistent message to consumers, prioritizing investment for optimal yield
  • Work with relevant online Retailers, to capitalize on market opportunities within the relevant beverage market categories, to grow volume, revenue and market share
  • Maintain an ongoing dialogue with the Senior Executives across Channel and Marketing ensuring ongoing alignment of performance and expectation, remaining acutely aware of the ever-changing brand and online expectations
  • Collaborate on creative, media, social media and technical development for e-commerce projects including online advertising campaigns, websites, microsites, and landing pages
  • Identify trends, insights, Competitor activity and optimize activity while developing new and creative growth strategies
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide guidance for adoption if appropriate, while keeping up to date with relevant technology and digital changes within the industry
  • Measure, report and influence performance of all platforms against key metrics, where possible including Customer engagement, purchase, order fulfilment, experience, conversion and retention against a backdrop of business profitability

Qualifications

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant tertiary qualification diploma or degree
  • Relevant industry related qualifications will be advantageous
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Experience

  • 3 years e-commerce experience
  • 4 years digital marketing/sales experience, preferably in the beverage/lifestyle industry
  • Experience in a competitive digital environment
  • E-commerce website front-end and back end operations
  • Knowledge of the liquor and/or FMCG industry will be a distinct advantage
