Intermediate User Experience Designer

Our client is looking for an experienced User Experience Designer with 3-5 years of experience who can help us create world-class user experiences. Reporting to the Head of Design, this is a hybrid role that requires both strategic thinking and tactical execution. The ideal candidate will have theoretical and practical knowledge of Design Thinking Methodology, Agile work experience, stakeholder and customer interviews, usability testing, heuristic reviews, wireframe, and prototyping, as well as managing stakeholder expectations. The successful candidate will be a South African citizen and will need to pass criminal and credit checks.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Head of Design and cross-functional teams to create and refine user experience strategies and solutions that meet business objectives and user needs.
• Conduct stakeholder and customer interviews to gather insights and feedback to inform design decisions.
• Develop user personas, journey maps, and other user-centered design artifacts to guide design decisions.
• Conduct usability testing, heuristic reviews, and other evaluation methods to identify areas of improvement in our digital experiences.
• Create low and high-fidelity wireframes and prototypes to communicate design solutions to stakeholders and developers.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure designs are implemented according to specifications and design standards.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, provide regular project status updates, and ensure timely delivery of design assets.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in user experience design and share knowledge with the design team and wider organization.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in design or a related field.
• 3-4 years of experience in user experience design.
• Theoretical and practical knowledge of Design Thinking Methodology.
• Agile work experience.
• Experience conducting stakeholder and customer interviews to gather insights and feedback.
• Experience conducting usability testing, heuristic reviews, and other evaluation methods to identify areas of improvement.
• Experience creating low and high-fidelity wireframes and prototypes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular project status updates.
• Proficient in using design software and tools such as Teams, Miro, Microsoft package, Figma, and Sketch.
• A South African citizen who has passed criminal and credit checks.
