City of London Contract / 6 Months £550.00 - £650.00 per day

Scrum Master- Our client is a large retail bank looking for an experience scrum master who can help in running daily stand-ups, lead planning sessions, lead retrospectives and promote an atmosphere of continuous improvement within the team, manage relationships with other teams within the organization and track the dependencies, communicate development status to key internal stakeholders, facilitate technical discussions and help the team make decisions, ensure that anything blocking the team gets recognised and resolved. This is a new greenfield project where the scrum master will work with clients to define and implement open banking and API-led connectivity strategies in line with the new and revised payments directives (PSD2), Open Banking and Customer Journey.

As an Agile Scrum Master, you’ll:

* Garner respect from your team but also be willing to get your hands dirty to get the job done.
* Lead and demonstrate value-add principles to a team
* Ensure Agile/Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to. You’ll be a voice of reason and authority and able make the tough calls when needed.
* Notice differences and issues as they arise and elevate them to management
* Facilitate discussion and facilitate alternatives or different approaches
* Lead a team to self-organization
* Understand basic fundamentals of iterative development
* Understand other processes and methodologies and can speak intelligently about them and leverage other techniques to provide value to a team/enterprise, especially Kanban but also XP, RUP, RAD.
* Understand the basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures
* Understand the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team
* Understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics
* Understand backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition
* Be familiar with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and better development practices, such as CI (Continuous Integration), BDD/TDD (Behaviour/Test Driven Development).
* Be familiar with using Jira, for backlog tracking, and GitHub, for code repository
